Hello, veggie burger enthusiast! Welcome! This blog is an ancillary project to a cookbook I’m writing called Veggie Burgers Every Which Way, set for release in June 2010, published by The Experiment. I’m now in the thick of writing it, testing, testing, testing (my lord, do I ever have a seasoned cast-iron skillet), preoccupying myself with the nuances of certain beans and grains, and vegan binders, and liquid smoke, and ketchup. On this site, in addition to chronicling the madness and updating you on my reel of cooking music (can’t recommend Taylor Dayne’s Can’t Fight Fate enough), I intend to post both some of the recipes I am in love with as well as some of the ones that are giving me grief, with the hope that I might find here a soundboard or two. If you try out any of my recipes, please—please!—let me know what you think.

omg, omg, omg! I am eating the sundried tomato and corn with goat cheese veggie burger as I type this, all I can say is genius! I have also made the spicy black bean with chipotle and pretty much almost teared up at the table, the combinations you have put together are amazing. I am the vegetarian / vegan cook at Hamilton College in Upstate NY, and I make veggie burgers every week for hundreds of students. I have had some really good ones and some not so good, its all trial and error. I made a tomatillo, tomato, salsa to go with these corn burgers and it pulls all the wonderful flavors together. Thankyou for this book, I hope to write one in the future, I will surely be using some of your recipes this year for the students at Hamilton. Wonderful, amazing, yum-yum.
Sincerely
Kara Papa
Thanks, Kara! It sounds like you have an awesome job!
I just received your book today from Amazon. I can’t WAIT to try these recipes. As far as I’m concerned a good veggie burger can be a whole meal. I see you also have recipes for buns, fries, garnishes and sides. This is one of the most appealing cook books I have ever seen! GREAT work!!!
