An Expert in Crafting Culinary Narratives

For over 15 years, my goal working in food has been to teach and empower — with creativity, economy, and clarity.

I’m an established cookbook authority, and a veteran author.

I’ve authored six cookbooks, including a 2nd edition reissue of my first title Veggie Burgers Every Which Way, and contributed to countless others — from commissioned titles for “Big Five” publishers and contract jobs for high-profile celebrities, to consulting authors on proposals, acting as a professional recipe tester, and serving as a project manager for time-sensitive books. Cookbooks are (pun intended) my bread and butter.

I’ve always approached food from the margins.

From championing vegetable-centric veggie burgers starting in 2010 (before it was cool!), steering the “bowl food” trend in 2015, and overall helping to normalize everyday plant-based eating; to creating a community of LGBTQAI+ foodies through the award-winning food journal Jarry, my work has always been an investment in a better, healthier, and more inclusive food future.

For brands, I offer authority, editorial vision — and a scalpel for precision.

Building on a decade of work in publishing prior to becoming an author, I was Director of Content for the cookware brand Misen, and I routinely consult for corporate clients, applying my expertise to product narratives, brand books, YouTube scripts, social media content, and engrossing, creative solutions to customer challenges.

And I’m a jack of all trades, by necessity.

I’ve become a valuable addition to most culinary projects because I’ve had to learn how to do it all: from producing a food shoot to styling the food; from creating an online platform to learning how to leverage it. I work as a food stylist often nowadays, for my cookbooks as well as for commercial shoots, television, and more.
